If you haven’t been to Lembongan before here are some tips
The Scoot, Perama & Public ferries take off & land on the beach – wear shorts & thongs (or plastic/rubber shoes as the coral can be sharp at low tide) Bluewater, Bounty, Bali Hai & Funship may also drop you at the beach depending on the tides. Our staff will meet Mainski guests on arrival and escort you to the resort. (Usually in our Tuk-Tuk)
Scoot ferry passengers will usually be transported to the resort by Scoot.
Ferry bookings – We can book ferries for you via email. Ferries are often fully booked throughout high season so it’s wise to book in advance.
Sanur beach - Porters (Dark Blue T shirt) are usually hovering around ready to carry your bags & put on the boat. Standard charge is 10,000 Rupiah per bag/surfboard.
Scoot Ferry - At Sanur, Lembongan & Gili the Scoot boat crew will load/unload your baggage.
If travelling on the Scoot boats – Try to get on first and sit closer to the back. It is a much more comfortable ride. Watch out for sunburn and spray if right at the back.
Crime is not common on Lembongan but always safeguard your money/valuables in our safety deposit boxes at reception.
Mainski’s Sunset Beat restaurant/bar features an extensive local & International menu prepared by our Australian Executive chef. All salads are washed in and all ice is made from bottled water.
Sunsets are the greatest from Mainski on the Jungut Batu sunset coast. Come and enjoy the Sunset Beat Happy Hours 5-7pm with an icy cold beer or one of our many cocktails. Don’t forget the camera!!!
Unlike Bali, Lembongan has almost no nightlife. Only Mainski’s Sunset Beat poolside bar shows a wide variety of music DVDs on the giant screen nightly with Pool table and table tennis - free for house guests. Sports channels are available by satellite TV.
Expect bar/restaurant closing times on Lembongan to vary between 9 & 11pm depending on the numbers. Mainski’s bar is usually the busiest.
Mainski provides a free internet Wi-Fi connection for our guests throughout the restaurant/pool/bar areas. For a high speed internet connection vouchers can be purchased from Ryan internet at the rear of Mainski.
There are no ATM machines on Lembongan & the money changers are more expensive than in Bali - so it’s to bring Rupiah.
At Mainski we do accept Visa & Mastercard for our guest's convenience to pay for accommodation, meals, drinks, etc.
Mainski staff have Scooters/motorbikes for hire at competitive rates. A variety of tours, snorkelling & diving activities can be arranged.
We hope to see you soon

Nusa Lembongan Travel Tips

Truly a stand out amongst properties along the Lembongan coast. 'resort' type place places) or the 'beachfront' places to the North.
Mainski is located about right in the middle of the beach places, you can walk there from any of the boat landings but better to arrange a pickup as walking through the soft sand isn't so easy. Mainski is easily the most professionally run of all the places while not losing that great island feel that people come to Lembongan for. The compound is enclosed from the rear which creates greater security. All the staff are smartly uniformed with identification which is handy because there annoyingly always seem to be lots of guys milling about trying to sell you things on Lembongan and it's often hard to tell their affiliation. The standard rooms are clean with great newly remodelled bath rooms. Only minus is no 'hot' water (few if any places on the strip have it) but showers are pretty warm thanks to solar heating. The grounds are clean and pleasant with the beach front area being the best with a nice bar, a shabby but fun billiard table, ping-pong table, indoor/outdoor dining and a fantastic pool (the only one on the strip),. Not much goes on in Lembongan at night, but the staff keep things lively with some good music and videos on the projector screen. Every one of the staff were extremely helpful, pleasant, spoke good English. You get the feeling more that they are happy to be there and are welcoming you to their own place, it's not just a job for them. The Australian manager is also around and willing to help. Food was great a mix of local and western specialties and great grilled stuff. This place also has the best options for Internet on the island with wi-fi hotspot (for a fee) as well as some PCs for hire.

"5 times and counting” Over the past 8 years I have stayed at Mainski five times, and the experience gets better every time. The renovation work has been done to a high with a The staff are excellent, willing and able to help in every way. The Island itself is beautiful, surfing, snorkeling, and diving are all available straight off the beach. There are more chickens than cars - so if the noise of cocks crowing and the sound of the surf in the morning are what you are looking for, head on out - just don't tell too many people!
|
“Mainski is like Heaven at a Budget Price” Value for money this resort is hard to beat. Some renovations were still right on the beachfront and unless you pay about $200/night in the 5 star hotels you won’t find accommodation with a pool. This place is only about $20/night and has everything you want...ensuite, air cond etc . You can get top food from the restaurant which has a professional chef from Bali making the food and know you wont get sick. The beer is cold and cheap, you can hire a scooter for next to nothing and its in a good central location.

Bistrobabe from Batemans Bay said on Tripadvisor "The rooms on the top floor (and most of them are the deluxe) which are situated up the front end, have views to the beach. Mainski is a really nice place to stay (it is not a 4star villa), but its value for money, the food in fantastic, the staff are wonderful, its in a great location and the juices are to die for"

“Amazing..so much fun”
Reviewed July 2, 2011 I was stay @ mainski with my family in the whole villa ( Suite room
upstair, and 2 rooms down stair ) and 2 other rooms is in deluxe AC. everything was great,
room, atmospher, scenery, and the hospitality. The hotel owner "Brian" was very helpfull and
friendly, also the staff amazing.
Of course its not the most of perfect hotel but there is no spotless so far.
they really succed to make over, renew and upgrade the hotel, install 2 big generators and put
AC in every room.
Food is fantastic..
That's why we decide to extend more few days there because 5 days is not enough.
We was enjoye our holiday..its really worth it with affordable price.
We will never forget that moment and we'll come back as soon as possible..
Cheers
Darcy
“Perfect”
The best location on Lambongan beach! The pool, bar and restaurant are right on the beach.
The staff were amazing.
Stayed June 2011
“Liked It So Much We Came Back A Few Days Later”
very cheap accommodation and I was expecting it to be back from the beach and just a place to
sleep.
It was way more than that. So much so that we returned to Mainski a week later for more.
Position
Mainski has, I think, the best position of any of the resorts that's line the beach. It has a good size
beachfront spot, with the restaurant/cafe on 1 side of their walkway with the pool, lounge chairs,
bar, pool table and ping pong on the other side.
Rooms
Very basic with beds, a couple of cupboards, toilet and cold showers. Was clean enough and a
comfortable spot to crash at night. Our room had fans, but we just opened the windows for a bit of
ventilation.
I've read some of the other reviews and I just don't get it. People seem to expect 5 star
accommodation at a 1 star price. It's pretty much a third world island with not a lot there.
Restaurant
I ate at 4-5 places on Lembongan and Mainski has the most comprehensive and highest quality
food.
The Green Curry is the best I've ever eaten and the chef (Peter is an Australian guy who takes
great pride in his food) maintains very high standards of hygiene.
Facilities
The pool is terrific, right on the edge with a stunning view. The bar is well stocked with very cold
drinks, with the pool table and ping pong ready to go.
Free WIFI is surprisingly fast, and there's a very cheap Internet place just outside the rear of the
property.
The electricity did go out one night. But switched back on in the am. Brian (the owner) mentioned
he's purchased a generator as back up and is installing it shortly.
Service
I spent time in 6 places around Bali and Mainski was the best, friendliest and most relaxed
service. Sitti, Comet, Wayan, Bruce and the rest of the team were helpful, fast and super friendly.
They'll arrange anything you need from snorkeling trips, scooter hire, etc. No hard sell, no hassle.
Overall
Mainski is a beautifully positioned, relaxed small resort with very friendly staff and solid basic
facilities - all for a low, low rate.
The restaurant has a huge range of very nice meals, and you can organise snorkeling trips (a must
do), scooter hire, etc with the staff.
Highly recommended.
“Great ending to the holiday, we all loved it. I cant recommend it enough”
Reviewed September 27, 2010 1person found this review helpfulWe were made to feel very
welcome by Brian Hayes and his team at Mainski Lembongan. It is right on the beach, just a
short walk from the Perama ferry. We stayed for a just couple of nights after a long haul,
travelling overland through Java and Bali. It was great place to chill out and relax after weeks
of having to wake up at dawn, hauling bagpacks and haggling, we were sad to leave. We
booked a villa with 3 rooms (two rooms downstairs and an upstairs suite). The rooms were
spotless and the luxury of showers with handmade soaps was wonderful.
The food was great and restaurant staff very friendly. No TV signal in Lembongan, but there
was a good choice of DVD's in the hotel's well-stocked library. My teenage children were also
impressed with the Pingpong and Pool tables while my wife and I enjoyed relaxing in the
infinity pool with fantastic uninterrupted views over the constantly rolling breakers and the
impressive sunsets.

Reviewed April 6, 2010 I stayed at mainski for 4 nights last april and am just about to book again.
the ping-pong and pool table plus the DVD player in our air conditioned room entertained us
famously. My son arrived with Bali belly and made a full recovery here. I loved it. I met some great
people and I found the serenity blissful. Brian is an Aussie.. he likes a drink at his bar at night..
good on him. Its nice to have a chat with the owner of the place you're staying in. Looking forward
to returning in October and getting that mainski headspace back :)
